Sagar Papneja, the face synonymous to Pathshala NGO, understood this truth profoundly and had felt the constrictions that our competitive education system puts on virtuous learning. Filled with the revolutionary pursuit to alter the system of education, Sagar\u2019s story is an inspiring exemplar, for all those who wish to bring change but lack the determination and courage, to do so. Let\u2019s dig deeper into his journey from being one of the city\u2019s only Education Activist to founding the <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/07WG6n\">TWAD (Teaching With A Difference)<\/a> Classes.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2361\" src=\"http:\/\/digitaldoorsurat.easyglue.in\/surat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/20-1024x832.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"585\" srcset=\"https:\/\/digitaldoor.co.in\/surat\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2017\/04\/20-1024x832.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/digitaldoor.co.in\/surat\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2017\/04\/20-300x244.jpg 300w, https:\/\/digitaldoor.co.in\/surat\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2017\/04\/20-768x624.jpg 768w, https:\/\/digitaldoor.co.in\/surat\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2017\/04\/20.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">How and when did you start?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As an event coordinator and co-head, Sagar has been working at the base level with Pathshala NGO, since more than four years. Pathshala is an NGO that strives to provide value based education to underprivileged children. In the meanwhile, he worked as a student activities in-charge at SDJ College. With the determination to keep education sector as his focal point, he developed his sagacity and expertise, in understanding the market need of human resource and found out what is lacking in the freshly graduated, workforce that was literate but uneducated. He realized the need of an education system that would enhance the holistic development of children from an early stage and make them ready for practical undertaking. His forte is in designing activity based learning and campus life development. There are not many who do this herculean task in India, so he decided to start something like it in his own city. The idea was to change the way of teaching and so he and his friend Rohit Tahalramani, made a pact and founded TWAD (Teaching With A Difference) Classes which currently impart practical knowledge on various spheres like BBA, BCom, etc. But plan is to start their own line of schools and colleges with a very \u00a0different take on the style of teaching and thus, they keep experimenting with methods and ways of knowing what yields what type of results. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">TWAD\u2019s flagship courses include short term professional courses on specialized subjects like event management, export &amp; import, public speaking and communication skills and stock market, they also teach content building to develop the thought process of the youth regarding politics and economics and such relevant topics of today\u2019s times. In order to make things interesting and easy to grasp, they tie up with noted companies, who then pitch in themselves, teach everything in complete practical terms and provide paid internships. This way, the students learn everything that is required in the market by professionals themselves and become capable enough of handling the real market scenario.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">What was the motivation behind it?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The drive has always been to change the education system of the country. It is the primary goal and Sagar is quite optimistic to achieve it. To serve the cause, he keeps visiting noted institutes across the country and takes part in various events and fests.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">And tries to come up with better ways to teach topics, which \u00a0otherwise are hard to learn. <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Challenges faced:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Every startup faces some common issues. Before starting, Sagar thought he had many backs to cover him, but as he ventured into this project, he realized that people can\u2019t be relied on, for they question and back out of anything unconventional. He and his team, had to start everything from the scratch. In the first month, they had only one student and their initial target was to teach around 25 students every quarter. But then they took it on themselves and with determinant hard work they did not let any circumstance affect the quality of their work and hence they didn\u2019t market. They hardly did any advertising and their entire thing worked completely by word of mouth. Today they have 75 enthusiastic students in the batch, when they are supposed to have only 50. For funds to start it, their family helped as they were not looking out for venture capitalists. So things are finally falling into place and they are going good.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Future Plans:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">By next year they are planning to move out of their small cranky office and set themselves up in some spacious place, because they need space to experiment with teaching methods. In next four to five years, they plan to open up franchises of this as well as their own schools and colleges. TWAD should become a common name.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Parting words:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">He once read that, \u201cIf I can\u2019t learn the way you teach me, please teach me the way I can learn.\u201d And he says, TWAD is trying to teach exactly that.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nelson Mandela believed that, Education is the most powerful weapon one can use to change the world.
