It takes only a decision to try and traverse the path and the story builds itself. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Turning an aspiration and vision into congenial reality, is not a sham but a deeply fulfilling possibility, if and only if, when someone is valiant enough to devote oneself with dedication, self-discipline and efforts. The anecdote of Sunny Kabrawala, the founder of <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/T1c9Wz\">Space Technology and Aeronautical Rocketry (STAR)<\/a>, trails the familiar route to success. Initially, STAR constituted a team of only 4 students, while it got invitation from 20+ schools, colleges and institutions to conduct seminars on space exploration and by the end of 2016, it had addressed 6000+ students in Gujarat. In a span of a year, STAR grew from a team of 4 members to a team of 15 members and organized numerous sky gazing and rocket launch events in Surat. Garnering acknowledgement and recognition for his endeavours, on 1<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">st<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> January 2017, Sunny Kabrawala was awarded \u201cRevolutionary Icon and Unique potential of 2016\u201d. Soon on 3<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">rd<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> January 2017, STAR inaugurated the first research laboratory of Surat named as STAR RESEARCH LABORATORY (SRL) and the very next day, on 4<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> January, they announced the 1<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">st<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> satellite mission of Surat named AXIS. \u00a0It was a small satellite completely designed and built at SRL and was launched in February in a Rocket designed and built by STAR. They were appreciated by NASA for Mission AXIS and were invited at the MARS SUMMIT 2017 as a prominent team from India for future Mars Missions. STAR also became the 1<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">st<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> startup to launch a CanSat from Surat. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>The Peak Point:<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>STAR has already added numerous feathers to its crown; some major achievements of STAR are listed as follows:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">An article on work done in Astro-photography (Mercury transit) was published in Gujarat Guardian.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Featured in DD National and Gujarat News channel.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Invited by more than 20 schools and colleges to conduct seminar on Rocket Science. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Invited by Surat Startup to have a seminar on \u201cThe Million Dollar Question\u201d.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Invited at Akashwani Radio Station to have to talk on Model Rocketry.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Was among the top 13 candidates of VIBRANT GUJARAT STARTUP GRAND CHALLENGE 2016.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Presented poster on \u201cAcquiring the IRNSS signals along with GPS and SBAS signals and comparing the systems in the terms of C\/N for positioning and navigation\u201d at ISRS\/IRSS\/ISRO symposium 2016.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Won best paper presentation award at ISRS\/IRSS\/ISRO symposium 2016.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Executive committee of Mars Summit 2107.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Awarded as Revolutionary Icon and Unique Potential of 2016 by KIDZEE.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">STAR was appreciated by NASA engineers for AXIS mission.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Successfully planned and executed first ever Small satellite launch mission of Surat named as AXIS.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Honoured by Mr. Shaun Moss in his book on INTERNATIONAL MARS RESEARCH STATION.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Published an article on mission AXIS on NARENDRA MODI APP.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Honoured with Extraordinary achievement award by BMEF.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>The Inside Story:<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Since childhood, Sunny was very much passionate about space exploration. He often used to watch stars and moon in the night sky and wonder about their creation. It inspired him and ignited a spark of curiosity within him to explore the universe. Somehow this pushed him in the right direction to find his own calling and soon he got drawn to the pursuit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">He coveted to become an aerospace engineer but inadequate marks in Higher Secondary Examination, prevented him from getting admission in the same. But this hurdle was not enough to demotivate him, so he decided to pursue a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Electronics Engineering instead. Meanwhile, he built a platform for other passionate and curious students, like himself, to work collectively for the research in space technology and explore the universe. Thus, Space Technology And Aeronautical Rocketry (STAR) was born.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Overcoming the Plot Twist:<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Coming up with a startup on research in space technology in Surat, is not a piece of cake. As the curator, the greatest challenge Sunny currently faces is to explain and convince people about his vision and build an efficient and passionate team of members who can work 16-18 hours a day with dedication. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Another problem that STAR faces currently, is the issue of insufficient funds. They require a huge amount of money to continue doing research work, so along with spending their precious time, they also spend a great deal of money from their own pockets due to lack of investors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Taking the optimistic aspect of this drawback, Sunny believes that insufficient funds and resources demands to build projects from limited resources or scrap materials, which in turn helps them to grow and improves their creativity, ultimately.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>The New Chapter to Come:<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sunny\u2019s ultimate future goal is to send an Indian flag to Mars.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Along with it, they are working hard to develop STAR as an International Space Agency. Their latest efforts are vested on a mission named VISION 2018 that constitutes 5 Mars based projects that would help humans to sustain life on Mars. In a light spirit this has also landed Sunny with the nickname \u2018Mr. Mars\u2019, and they do not consider even Mars as their limit.
