Turning our childhood hobby into a trend is Pooja Vijay’s Pink Pedals. It is a cycle rental company that started back in 2017. The idea behind the brand since its inception is to promote cycling as well as to make lives happier and healthier. Along with improving the lifestyle of the people, the brand also aims at curbing pollution.

In its initial days, the brand started with 9 bicycles. Pooja recalls her days of struggle, “The initial days were very slow with not a single rental on days. But I had taken up the responsibility to make a difference and there was no looking back now.” Slowly but surely the awareness grew and today there are almost 75 people who ride it daily. The bicycles have gained recognition from Rajasthan Tourism and hence they have been painted with the theme of Rajasthan.

Talking about panning out the Bicycle Jaipur of Mayor- Pooja says, “We look forward to tie-up with universities to encourage the youth to use cycles to travel to educational institutions. We also want to expand in other cities. For Jaipur, we are looking forward to starting cycling classes so as to give the riders the confidence to ride on the roads. Our aim is also to change the mindsets of people and get more cycling tracks and get 30% of Jaipur to commute by cycle by the year 2050.”
