Designing Dreams

A creative mind from the very beginning, it all started for Gitanjali when she was doing her graduation in Pearl Academy. Throwing it back to 2009, Gitanjali realised the need for a brand selling proper western wear in Jaipur. With this idea in mind, she set out with her friend to start Gaba. Started off as an experimental exhibition at the age of 19, the clothes and the thought behind it started seeping into the interests of the people. Owing to her venture, she became the first person to start the trend of western wear in the city. She never let her age define the heights she could reach and participated in the Rajasthan Fashion Week becoming the youngest designer of the season. She also pursued a styling course from London School of Fashion for her Summer Schooling. With support from her family, she launched her brand- Gaba.

The Gaba Craze

The brand Gaba majorly deals with customisations. From frilly vintage dresses to floor kissing white wedding dresses, they have it all. The apparel is both sensational and comfortable. Gitanjali aims to bring comfort to fashion and for that very reason, they use premium fabric for all their styles. A treat to the aesthetics and a sight for the sore eyes, the brand speaks the language of the trend.

The uphill battle

Initially, the people of Jaipur loved the collection but were hesitant to buy the clothes.  With the trend for wearing western clothes amiss, people didn’t know where they would wear them even if they bought them. People earlier only bought the clothes for holiday wear and New Year. It was even difficult to source the fabric. But against all odds, Gaba successfully brought the trend for western wear to the city.

Spanning out the wings

A venture that started off as something fun, took roots to become something much bigger. She wishes to expand and open up more stores in Jaipur and in other cities as well. Seeing the love and the support that the city is showering on her, she is quite happy where she is right now.
