Photographers have a way of capturing these unseen elements and creating a picturesque story around it. Their eye for detail and the enrapturing shots are indeed a visual delight. One such photographer is Prachi Sharma, whose pictures speak louder than words.

A photographer of a kind, Prachi’s talent is appreciated far and wide. From working for major brands to getting recognition in national and international magazines, her talents know no bound. Confident in her stride and rising above her challenges, read along to know more about her journey.

Time-lapse

A visual sorcerer of sorts, Prachi caught interest in the subject after the completion of her schooling. She regularly went for photo walks in Jaipur and that, fired up her passion. Her photos had a way of capturing people’s senses, even the simplest thing would look divine. Within a year, she got featured in an international magazine. That’s when she knew that she had found her calling.

Prachi moved out of Jaipur to explore more avenues and possibilities. She wanted to leave her comfort zone and take on the world by herself. Sans any financial support, she moved to Delhi. Her work helped her get more contacts along with work assignments with companies like Swiggy and the likes.

After Delhi, she moved to Mumbai to learn more. There were days when she worked as a re-toucher and took up freelancing projects to pay for her equipment. She also worked in Bangalore for a bit before heading back to Jaipur.

Adding colours to her life

After meeting new people, learning new things from various people around the country, she came back to Jaipur. Being a spiritual person, she believes that one should never forget their roots. By fate, she got together her own professional team comprising of a stylist, make-up artist and her assistant. The team is her backbone who she says has turned into her family.

Prachi never backed away from refining her own work and always put a lot of thought behind the work she does for her clients. Everything she knows about photography, she has learnt it by observing other people or has learnt it herself. She believes, that if you have the will to learn, you can do it anywhere and anyhow. Each and every project of hers was a stepping stone for acing in her skills. She shares, “To have a vision and to execute it, depends on the person and their knowledge. No one can direct you or tell you how to do it.”

Blurring the challenges

When she was in the 11th grade, her health threw a curveball at her. She was detected with a tumour in her spine which restricted her from even standing up. The doctors had warned her that she could never stand up by herself, but her strong will and never say die spirit turned the tables around. She was up and about in no time, proving the doctors wrong. This challenge taught her a lot about not giving up and to enjoy the little things in life.

In a society where a job like photography is not deemed as stable, Prachi had to cross one more hurdle when she was just starting off. Her family refused to back her due to the choice of her profession. But her rebellious nature never stopped her from paving her own path.

Soaking in the inspiration

Prachi’s inspiration for her work is always around her. May it be the women around her, the wonders of nature or anything that comes her way. Photography is something she can’t live without because it is her work that keeps her alive.

She aspires to move out of the country to learn and work with other teams around the world. With the spirit for wanderlust and a gipsy soul, she holds her family and her team close to her heart.
