For a long, long time things were stagnant in our city. A money minded vibe that tried to counter everything put against it in terms of its economic returns and viability. This very bad attitude has had led to the death and extinction of a great deal of ideas and artists in the past. But then, the times are changing, and changing for good.

Things are getting better, because probably, people have started thinking about things. The joy in and of small things might as well have started seeping into the heads and hearts of people in the city. Nonetheless, the change is loved, and appreciated.
The Tapi Project represents one such strong, wavy, luscious breeze of fresh air from these changing times.

The Tapi Project is Yogi, and people he came across during different phases of his musical explorations, all coming together forming one homogeneous act. Yogi, Swati and Anand Mani, three totally different schools of thoughts and executions coming together and giving form to this collective.
Hence, it’s pretty difficult to put their music under a single genre as such.

The nine songs from their debut album, all belong to different times and spaces, and the only common characteristic in them is that of the band’s idea of explorations of things unknown.
Yogi is a traveller, musician and a film maker, Swati’s voice is like flowing away into the black hole, only to be sure that you’d come out at the other end at some mesmerized place, and Anand Mani’s genius is such that he can exactly tell you what note the fan’s spinning at.
Their debut album, which goes by the same name as of the band, is all mixed down, ready and all set to do things to you, in terms of sonic inputs.

Earlier this March, Pepsi MTV Indies also released their music video for ‘Paigham’, a song out of the album. First for a band from our city. Thank you, and congratulations.
You can watch the video here- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXFXgK7B8SY.
Also, other music videos are lined up for their respective launched.

As far as the future plans of the band goes, there are some fine things that are being cooked. The band’s all set to go about touring different cities, an album launch tour of sorts.
When and How? Those are interesting questions, to which you’ll have equally interesting answers soon. Very soon.
Good things here, good things there, and good things everywhere.

To art, that does things beyond comprehension, to one’s senses; we wish them all of the goodness in the world.
