Indian Fashion has come a long way and there’s no better way to celebrate it than showcasing it to a global audience. Style Statement India is the brainchild of Nivedita Bohra and Abhishek Dalmia, the founders of Perfect Affair, an experiential marketing company. Dearth of an international exposure for multitalented local fashion designers urged Nivedita to come up with an event, which was exciting and productive for the designers at the same time. She believes in the brand value of Bollywood and is correlating it with the fashion industry to gain that extra mileage. “A lot of thinking has been put behind Style Statement India to cater to aspects that are missing in the existing fashion shows”, said Nivedita Bohra.
Style Statement India wants to offer a unique international platform for the fresh faces of Indian Designers from the fields of apparel, jewellery and handicrafts to showcase their creativity to the Indian Diaspora in The States as well as to the eclectic mix of people from different ethnicities. It is a wonderful platform for the designers to showcase their collection to an audience which is savvy, fashion conscious and which knows its capes from its shrugs. This would lead up to a rewarding cross-border business exchange. Famous designers such as Vaishali Shadangule, Divya Reddy, Sneh Dalmia, Rajneeral Babutta, Nikhil Mishru and several others, who have exhibited their collection at prominent fashion shows in India are participating in Style Statement India. There will also be an exclusive ramp showcase by the gorgeous bollywood actress, Aditi Rao Hydari.
Abhishek Dalmia, the co-founder of Perfect Affair, is very hopeful for Style Statement India. He believes that it is an important international platform for India and Indian fashion designers and could be the next big fashion shows for Indian Couture done abroad.
Style Statement has partnered with powerful names like Make in India, the initiative by Govt. of India and with Khadi Village Industry Board by the Government of Rajasthan for the event. The team plans to make this a regular series of shows. The next season would be hosted in Sydney and will be announced in Los Angeles after this event.
