Over the course of the last few days of February, specifically 26th- 29th, our city is all set to host the second edition of Tapi Utsav. The first edition of the
festival was held during Feb 2014.
Tapi Utsav is a celebration, a revelation, the idea of bringing together all small joys in life, and living them during the course of the festival. The idea, always, is to please and treat the senses. This was the principle around which the festival was founded by a few good men and women from the city. The same idea and principle is being strengthened and worked and built upon this year.

Art, craft, music, dance, the joy of getting your hands dirty, your eyes popped, your ears entwined with the music and you yourself encapsulated with the vibe of the space during the days of the festival can be the few key words that could describe the festival, because it’s almost impossible to put a finger on it and define it one hundred percent. What‘s being attempted and executed here is an exploration, of things unseen, unheard and never been felt before, things that cannot be described but only felt; this festival is all about having fun.
This year’s Tapi Festival shall have artists like sitar player Neeladri Kumar, folk dancer Margi Madhu Chakyar, writer Robin Bhatt, Maya Krishna Rao etc and other renowned artists and faculty members at different art, craft, design, film etc colleges and universities shall be present at the festival, taking different workshops, giving performances, giving talks and lectures etc.
Like last year, the Science Centre shall be a host to the festival.

The idea of Tapi Utsav is not to cater to just a selected crowd or intellectuals or artists or art enthusiasts etc; the idea is to appreciate small joys in one’s life. Joys that make you smile, leave you content, and changes things in your head and your heart on its own and leaves you with a lot of goodness.

No festival can be a festival without revellers, and the space and energy which we plan and want to generate would only happen if all you people from the city come visit and be a part of the festival.
So come one and come all, there’s a lot to be seen, there’s a lot to be learned, there are a lot of things that’d leave you awestruck.
