“When I was thinking about what my first business enterprise would be, I decided to pursure something, which fascinated be, which was hair dressing, and decided to merge it with the experience of several years that I had gained while I was working in the hospitality industry. And hence, HeadMasters came into existence.”, says Mr Pramod Dewan, founder of HeadMasters.

He started his professional training with Mr Habib Ahmed, father of the famous celebrity stylist Javed Habib, in Delhi, and within a few months of the completion of his formal training, he opened the first branch of Headmasters in Chandigarh,being the fashion conscious city that Chandigarh is.

It’s, combined with all of the hospitality experience which Mr Pramod had inculcated from the hotel industry, HeadMasters saw a tremendous and exponential increase in its loyal fan base, which definitely had a lot to do with the hospitality and service standards that the brand had set for itself.

So, what had started as a 1000sqft facility in Chandigarh back in 2002, grew to 3000sqft in just two years.
In five years, it was a 22000 sqft mall, which contained a saloon, skin clinic, spa, nail bar, tattoo studio and a cafeteria, all under the same roof.

There isn’t a facility like it, in the entire subcontinent.

The Surat facility started in 2013, which turned out to be an exceptional move. Being the 4^th fatest growing city in the world, and 8^th biggest city in India, the city had always lacked quality talent in terms of saloons, spa etc.
At Headmasters there were exceptionally trained hair stylists, make up and grooming artists, incredibly talented nail artists, a world class subtle and soothing spa, therapies and international standard products which were of the highest quality and not even heard of before in the city. The city accepted all of the goodness with a lot of delight and excitement. The facility at Surat is spearheaded by Mrs Roopangi Dewan, Mr Pramod’s wife and also business partner, who hails from Surat. Roopangi Dewan herself is a make up artist and a hair stylist.

. “It took about 6 months for things to really kick in. Then, within a year we were utilizing 25% of our optimum capacity. Our last year’s target was to get it up to 50%, which we did. ” says Pramod Dewan.

As far as Surat is concerned, HeadMasters has created a place for itself indeed. And one may argue that it is a bit heavier on your wallet, but one receives much more than what one has paid for, in return.
And when the deal is so good, no Surti in a good mind would say no to it.
