Often, one of the biggest dilemmas that youngsters face in Surat is of ‘what to do’. Most of the plans are choked to death, at their very onset, by this dreaded question. Though hailed as the 4th fastest growing city of the world and other things, there are only a few number of interactive, interesting fun activities for an individual to be engaged in.

In October, few young friends came together for a venture called Rush, a gaming arena which a concept which hasn’t been really executed or tried or for that matter, not even experimented with, anywhere else in Gujarat.

Rush’s gaming area includes two games, Laser Tag and Bungee Soccer, each with its own play area.
Laser Tag, in a nutshell, is playing counter strike in real time, only the guns have been replaced with, harmless laser guns, and taking placed inside a neon lights lit, Avatar themed arena. People play in teams, and the agenda is very simple. Shoot the opponents, and protect yourself during all the times. The team with the most points wins.

Bungee Soccer is the regular soccer with a twist. Participants are fastened on to ropes attached to hooks in the ceiling, allowing them to cover only a certain territory. The goal here is to simple; the team with the maximum goals wins.

“We were a bunch of school friends hanging out in Bombay and were looking for something fun to do, and we ended up at this Laser Tag and Bungee Soccer arena in the city. The lack of such options in the hometown led us to think about it seriously. Slowly and gradually things started taking place and all the planning cultivated into opening of ‘Rush’,” said Shweta Mehta, one of the partners at rush.

The idea is new and the city has never had anything of this sort before, but people poured in from day one and embraced the idea generously. Though the crowd is generally young, recently a 80 year old couple played a game of laser tag at rush, and came out brimming with happiness. Moreover, there’s already groups of college going kids, who have become regular visitors. Who wouldn’t give it to be in the game, than just playing the game.

Definitely a very good and exciting new gaming arena one must try in the city. Truly said here – counter strike in real life. From young kids to adults, all would enjoy to spend time here. A big thumbs up. Keep it up. Cheers. ?
