What one wears is an extension of themselves. In a broader term, it’s almost a direct reflection of one’s thinking, actions, inspirations, roots and everything else combined. And that is especially why fashion has always remained a main stream medium of expression, as well as realization for people.

Founded in 1999 by Lalita Surana, Tathya has been effortlessly manifesting and delivering this very expression to women all across Surat. Their clients range over a large part of the age spectrum, with young college going girls to brides-to-be to elderly ladies all of them relating and seamlessly associating themselves with ‘Tathya’s tathya’ during these past 15 years.

Tathya’s latest Saree collection – Autumn-winter 2015 is called ‘Shubhra’. ‘Shubhra’ offers traditional weaves in white and gold with intricate handwork borders to give it a contemporary look. The collection includes  Banarasi silk, Jute silk, Tissue silk and Banarasi block print sarees. The royal hues of silk etched with contrast borders makes them extremely elegant. The collection is a reflection of the attempts to go back to the inherent beauty of a hand woven garment’s craftsmanship and raw material, without relying on heavy surface embellishments or ornamentation.

As far as the work side aspects are concerned, natural fabrics have been the only kind of fabric being used for manufacturing garments, owing to its look and feel. In a customized garment, the cuts and styling play an important role. Hence, a lot of focus goes in that particular thing while designing garments for clients. Moreover, the most important part of it all is who they are as a person and an individual, and how could they enhance it,  via their garments.

As we head into this wedding season, draping oneself in these beautiful weaves seems nothing short of a bare necessity.
