‘We Make Spaces’ is on a mission of transforming work places; budget and size aren’t going to stop them

We Make Spaces

We all want the spaces where we work and live to be as temptingly designed as possible. This is where the magic of interior designing sweeps in. The journey of We Make Spaces was initiated with the same idea in 2015, when Architect Umang Mittal partnered with his friend, Architect Hiral Patel, to establish a unique architecture and interior design studio in Surat. Since then the company has been in transforming the ordinary into something beautiful, rare and usable. They believe in making the best possible use of an available area while capturing the spirit of the client and the essence of space.

In a chat with us, Umang Mittal says,

Every space has a character of its own and it is on us to identify the traits and organize it in a way that every small piece falls into its own place. To treat the space like an entity is the foremost and indispensable step of the whole designing process.

Interior designing is not all about designing big houses. It can also give a complete 360 makeover to your small retail outlet or display showroom or a corporate office.

Here’s a sneak-peek at how We Make Spaces is transforming a variety of work spaces into a rich, fun and inviting place:

1. Devji Constructions:

This is a 1000 Square feet Developer Office that offered a view of the Tapi River at international business center. To make sure that the serene view is fully utilised they let the windows take the spotlight. From wall murals to every small piece of furniture, was handcrafted at the site. Even the paintings were painted live and in accordance with the designing needs. To keep innovative originality intact, the door handles were exclusively designed in wood and installed. Everything from tip to toe was tailored according to the aspirations of the client and designed to reflect his dynamism and vision. Ensuring efficient functionality and robust circulation, they made the space luxuriously distinct and unforgettable for any onlooker who put his foot in.

2. Karma Realtors:

It’s the 1000 square feet office design of a Real Estate Company, where We Make Spaces’ team used monochromatic scheme with subtle punches of pattern and perky colors. They designed it with inviting, minimalist furniture and accessories to give an unconventional touch with efficient space planning. They made a bold use of black and white to stand out and provide an eclectic feel to the space. From light fixtures to furniture pieces, everything was customized and exclusively made. To the utter satisfaction of the client, the resultant space was completed in 90 days and resembled a profoundly spacious office that gave the impression of an airy, formal yet quirky junction for an upscale property purchasing experience.

3. Krishna Boutique:

It’s an Ethnic wear boutique, spread across an old garage of 100 square feet. The project had a limited budget with time restrictions. The fashion boutique deals with  indian wear, each tailor-made exclusively with block-printed and indigenous fabrics being the favorite. To ensure that the space denotes the right aesthetics of the label, the team designed a classy contemporary look using the actual blocks used for block printing the fabrics. The blocks were revamped by cutting them into circles and were reused for a minimalistic ornamental decoration to bring out the label’s essence. Sabyasachi wallpapers were used instead of the regular wall paints or decals to which not only fit the budget well but also gave a trendy cum ethnic touch to the space. The light fixtures were designed using bamboos. Also, convertible spaces were created with the highlight being the changing room which eventually becomes the part of the boutique. The whole project was completed well within the available time frame and without exceeding the given limited budget.

4. Four Buttons:

Four Buttons is a 300 square feet small place that was turned into a display-cum-director’s office of an upcoming Kurti designer. Full of life, the place displayed a great play of colors, with apt consideration of storage requirements and supporting accessories for space utility. Keeping the idea of modern working spaces in mind, the lights and fixtures were adjusted as well as the furniture were designed on the site, exclusively to suit it. Because creativity is all about solving a problem with beauty, they used the logo prominently on the feature wall and got that impactful impression, on point.

5. US Dental Care:

It’s a 850 square feet dental clinic where they successfully experimented with unconventional epoxy flooring which is a type of antimicrobial flooring. The main challenge that they overcame was to fit 3 dental chairs and a consulting room, along a lab, toilet and waiting area within such confinement. They not only executed it successfully but did so within 3 months time. To make the place lively and inviting their designs played with geometrical shapes like circle, square as well as colors to add a light vividness to the place.  Added to this the light fixtures are custom made with frosted and clear glass, exclusively casted for the project.
