A smart city is an urban development vision to integrate multiple information and communication technology (ICT) and Internet of things (IoT) solutions to improve quality of life. Yash Sanghvi’s Responscity is the first step towards this evolution that kick starts an important chain of changes about the deployment and management of the infrastructural systems within a city.

• How and when did it start?
  Yash came up with Responscity, in late 2015, when he realized the need of technology, that would bring a revolution and single-handedly make the city, smarter and the lives of the citizens better. Responscity is a Smart City Technology Company that creates innovative software and hardware solutions for City Management by understanding the community and engaging the stakeholders in implementing them as well. ‘Digital House Identification (DHI)’, their unique offering, is a Digital Infrastructure created by integration of Hardware and Software to enable city become efficient, transparent and accountable.

• What was the motivation behind it?
  Yash was profoundly motivated to bring revolutionary changes in the day-to-day lives of masses. This led him to start Responscity so that technology can be used efficiently to make the cities smarter. With great optimism, he believes that in a few years, Responscity will change the cityscape, dramatically.
• Challenges faced:
  Like every other start-up, the major challenges that Responscity faces is to make the user understand the new concept, its utilities and the revolutionary results it would bring. Another hurdle to cross is the constant race to bring in new technological innovations and stay above the game.
• Future goals:
  Being a company devoted to making cities smarter through their technological innovations, Responscity is already working with 3 Cities in the country. They intend to mark their presence in at least another 10 cities by 2019, incorporating Surat and 25 other cities by 2021, while invigorating the smart cities project started by PM Narendra Modi.
  Their goal is to advance the country with efficient and holistic use of technology that will transform the lives of people.
